BVAC Welcomes New Director

Buena Vista Arts Council (BVAC) is pleased to announce the hire of Sarah Straw, who will join the BVAC team as Director. In this role Straw will be responsible for organizational and funding management, as well as membership development and marketing.

“I was attracted by BVAC’s mission to build community through the arts,” Straw said. “I’m so thrilled to be back in the arts world and part of this growing organization.”

Straw brings over 10 years of nonprofit and arts management, with expertise in fundraising, marketing, and general operations. After earning a BA in theatre and an MBA, she held positions with a small theatre company and more recently with a nonprofit supporting higher education.

“Over the last several years we have been building our capacity and programs to become an integral part of the Buena Vista community,” said BVAC Board President Tom Roberts. “Sarah’s background and experience are fantastic and will really help take us to the next level as an organization!”
